A partnership agreement was signed between Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University and Lublin Medical University regarding the implementation of the project called "Bridges of Health: Creation of a Cross-Border Telemedical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Platform for Doctors and Patients". This cooperation is carried out within the Interreg NEXT Poland – Ukraine 2021–2027 programme. The contract was signed by the rectors of both higher education institutions: Anatolii Tsos and Wojciech Zaluska.
The project belongs to the "Health" priority of the Interreg NEXT Poland–Ukraine 2021–2027 programme and will be implemented through July 31, 2026. Its members are Lublin Medical University, University Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Lublin, Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Volyn Regional Clinical Hospital.
The project goal is ensuring equal access to medical care, support the sustainability of health care systems, in particular primary medical care, as well as promoting the transition from institutional care to the family and community care. During the implementation of the project, a platform will be created to improve the quality of health care and reduce inequality in access to modern diagnostics and effective treatment of patients from the regions of Lublin Voivodeship, Lviv and Volyn Oblasts.
The project tasks are:
- improving the quality of diagnostic and treatment services;
- increasing the use of digital tools in the field of health care;
- increasing the level of knowledge, skills and qualifications of the Polish and Ukrainian scientists and medical staff of hospitals in the field of health care within four specialisations: dermato-oncology/dermatology, surgery, ophthalmology and anesthesiology.
These agreements will mark an important step in the development of the Faculty of Medicine. They will contribute to the students’ professional growth giving them the opportunity to expand their practical and theoretical knowledge.
