Institute of Poland

The Institute of Poland is an information and research institute designed to promote Ukrainian-Polish cooperation at the inter-university, inter-regional, international and inter-state levels in all spheres of public life. Founded in 2008 at the Faculty of International Relations of the Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka at the initiative of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland O. Motsyk, the Head of the Institute of Central and Eastern Europe in Lublin (RP) Professor E. Klochovskyi and the rectorate of the Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka in Lutsk.

Among the priority tasks of the Institute of Poland:

  • creation of an information site about Ukrainian-Polish relations;
  • establishment of library funds devoted to Ukrainian-Polish topics;
  • holding international round tables, seminars, conferences, publication of scientific collections within the scope of the studied subject;
  • organization and conduct of linguistic and local studies practices for pupils, students, teachers, etc.;
  • participation in international projects and research, cooperation in this area of ​​work with similar organizations in Poland and Ukraine;
  • promoting the spread of Polish culture in Ukraine and Ukrainian culture in the Republic of Poland (holding festivals, competitions, exhibitions, watching films, organizing concerts, presenting new editions, etc.);
  • establishment of contacts and further close cooperation between universities of Poland and Ukraine;
  • conducting open lectures and reading special courses by teachers of Poland and Ukraine;
  • creation of new initiatives to deepen Ukrainian-Polish relations.
