Museum of Ethnography of Volyn and Polissia at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University
The history of the Museum of Ethnography of Volyn and Polissia at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University dates back to 1996. It was then, on the initiative of the head of the department of archeology and source studies M. M. Kuchynka and under the leadership of A. A. Dmytrenko, the first exposition of the Cabinet of Ethnography of Volhynia and Polissia was organized. In 2002–2008, the Cabinet was part of the Museum of Archeology of the University named afterLesya Ukrainka. With the creation of the department of documentary studies and museum affairs, on the initiative of its head S. V. Gavrilyuk, the Museum of Ethnography of Volyn and Polissia at the University named afterLesya Ukrainka. In this regard, the relevant decision of the rectorate was adopted on November 18, 2008, according to order No. 438 of the Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka, which stated: "To create a museum of ethnography on the basis of the ethnographic collection collected during historical, regional and ethnographic practices of students of the Faculty of History Volyn and Polissia". On December 3, 2010, the Department of Education and Science of the Volyn Regional State Administration registered the Museum of Ethnography of Volyn and Polissia at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
At the end of December 2008, the first ethnographic exhibition called "On the thread of the genealogy" was organized. It was extremely successful and with the light hand of A. A. Dmytrenko it became an annual event.

In April 2011, a partial re-exposition of the MEVP was carried out, which resulted in the presentation of five thematic blocks: wood, ceramics, weaving, clothing, decorative fabrics.
In the same month, an exhibition was held as a result of the production museum practice of students of the 5th year of the specialty "Museum work and protection of monuments of history and culture", which was timed for the Easter holidays. It covered the following thematic blocks: "Clothes of Volyn and Western Polissia", "Pottery centers of Volyn", "Weaving of Volyn and Western Polissia" and the photo exhibition "Ethnographic summer of 2010".
On May 12-19, 2011, the MEVP organized the fourth ethnographic exhibition "On the thread of the genealogy", dedicated to the International Day of Museums and the 15th anniversary of the MEVP. Its opening took place within the framework of the Lesya Ukrainka University of Science Festival.
From July 1 to 10, 2011, students of the 2nd year of the specialty "Museum work and preservation of historical and cultural monuments" under the leadership of candidate of historical sciences A. A. Dmytrenko, underwent field ethnographic practice in the village of Mezhysyt of the Ratniv district of the Volyn region. During the expedition, exhibits were collected to replenish the funds of the Museum of Ethnography of Volhynia and Polissia. In particular, the museum received about fifty valuable exhibits, including soha, zhlukto (tub for soaking linen), sernega (upper winter clothing), etc. All these materials are stored in the Museum of Ethnography of Volhynia and Polissia and are a unique source from which you can get information about the traditional everyday culture of Ukrainians.

On May 14-18, 2012, students of the 3rd year of the specialty "Museum work and preservation of historical and cultural monuments" helped in the creation of the exhibition "From Grandmother's Chest" (exhibition of new arrivals). And Oksana Grabynska, a 5th-year student majoring in "Museum work and protection of historical and cultural monuments", prepared the exhibition "The shuttle is fast, fast, and behind the shuttle is a song and a thread" as a practical embodiment of her master's thesis. This exhibition is dedicated to the famous weaver Zinovia Daney.
In October 2012, the exhibition "From Grandmother's Chest" (clothes and decorative fabrics) was organized for the Second Scientific and Practical Conference "The State and Prospects of Innovative and Investment Development of the City of Lutsk", in the preparation of which museum students of the IV and V courses took an active part .

Small exhibitions called "Ethnographic Summer" have also become traditional. The first such expositions (2008-2010) contained purely photographic materials and reflected the participation of museum students in ethnographic field expeditions. In 2011, the idea arose to present new things that came to the museum during summer internships. The opening of the exhibition "Ethnographic Summer - 2011" took place on November 17, 2011, during the week of the Faculty of History. Students participated in the design of the exhibition and its opening.
On May 17, 2011, the Museum held an Open Day for the first time.

On October 19, 2011, the MEVP initiated the "Holiday of our family", in the organization and implementation of which students of the fifth year of the specialty "Museum work and preservation of historical and cultural monuments" took an active part. The purpose of this event was to attract first-year students of the "Museum Affairs and Preservation of Historical and Cultural Monuments" and "Documentation and Information Activities" majors to the student community, to involve them in active student life, and to introduce them to the teachers of the Faculty of History. Among the two groups of the first year, a number of competitions were held for knowledge of Ukrainian proverbs, sayings, folk songs and dances, etc. Having passed "difficult" tests, first-year students were allowed to take the student oath, as well as worthy of initiation into the large and friendly family of the "Documentation and Museum Studies" department.
For the second time, "Our Family Holiday" was held by museum students on October 31, 2012. A friendly, family atmosphere prevailed at the holiday. The organizers prepared and demonstrated a mini-exhibition about how their lives would have turned out if they had not entered the Institute. Traditionally, among the three groups of the first year, the graduates held a series of competitions for knowledge of Ukrainian songs, as well as for the correct selection of a girl's costume from the MEVP funds.

On April 12, 2012, students of the 4th year organized a solemn educational event "Spring Meeting" at the MEVP. It was visited by students of the first grade of secondary school No. 5 in Lutsk. It was the first experience of practical organization of a museum event for students and the first visits to the museum by schoolchildren.

During the holiday, future museum workers used interactive methods of working with visitors, addressed students as co-participants in the action. After getting acquainted with the museum's exposition, first-graders were given the opportunity to iron things with a ruble and an iron iron of the beginning of the 20th century. - the way their great-grandmothers used to iron. Also, the children saw the dishes used to prepare food and tried to "eat" with wooden spoons.
On March 22, 2013, as part of the "Museum Pedagogy" course, students of the 4th year at the MEVP held a solemn event for children of different age categories (4-9 years old) "Tales in the museum...". The holiday was started with the play-play "Ivasyk Telesyk", the main characters of which were children together with students. Under the narration of the hosts, they demonstrated their acting skills to the audience. The end of the performance was a fabulous tour of the thematic sections of the museum.
On March 29, 2013, students of the 4th year at the MEVP held a festive event for children of the second grade, as well as a master class on making "Making Dolls".
