Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University held a celebration on the occasion of Children’s Protection Day, celebrated on June 1.
The square in front of the main building was full of people. The students and employees of the university gathered with their children. Also, all interested residents and guests of the town could join the celebration.
At the beginning of the event, Nataliia Blahovirna, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Communication, addressed the audience. «Today is a wonderful day, the first day of summer and the first day of vacations. It is a wonderful day not only for children, but also for parents, because they were also waiting for summer vacations. Despite this, the war continues. Many Ukrainian children are forced to leave the country; many children are forced to hide in shelters. That is why on International Children’s Day, every adult wants and should show our children that we belong. The most precious thing for us is that thanks to AFU we can see children’s smiles. I sincerely wish that today and all the following days pass without worries and that our children receive many positive emotions,» said Nataliia Bohdanivna.
Many interesting locations were arranged at the square in front of the main building to present the faculties and other structural units of the University. The venue’s guests were awaited by faculty islet creators with curiosities for the main little people of the holiday, fitness warm-up, body art, exercises, thematic exhibitions and master classes. Those present were able to refresh themselves with goodies and quench their thirst with various drinks prepared by the students.
Fairytale and cartoon characters also visited the children, for general entertainment and holding various competitions and activities. The children liked Mavka and Mickey Mouse the most. During the event, funds were collected for the needs of defenders of Ukraine.
