The extended family of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University celebrated the World Embroidery Day. On the premises of Lubart Castle, the “Charity Photo in an Embroidered Shirt” action and a charity auction were held, the funds from which will be transferred to the defenders of Ukraine.
Students and teaching staff of structural divisions, representatives of the University administration gathered on the castle square. The servicepersons of the 100th Separate Mechanised Brigade also attended the event.
After the joint performance of the National Anthem and commemoration of the victims in the struggle for the freedom and independence of Ukraine, Rector of the University, Anatolii Tsos, addressed the audience. The head of the University noted that the main task of students and lecturers is to provide and obtain high-quality education, which will enable the graduates to work well and build Ukraine.
“However, obtaining quality education is possible only thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We thank our defenders for the fact that we have the opportunity to do our work. We must remember that helping the army is the duty of every citizen of Ukraine. Today, on Vyshyvanka Day, we continue the charity Easter auction to raise funds for our soldiers. Therefore, let’s work, learn and help the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said Anatolii Vasyliovych.
The representatives of the 100th Separate Mechanised Brigade also congratulated everyone on the Vyshyvanka holiday: Head of Communications Group of the Headquarters of the 100th Territorial Defense Brigade in Volyn, Major Kostiantyn Baichuk and the Spokesman of the Brigade, Senior Lieutenant Serhii Khominskyi, a former lecturer at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University before the full-scale invasion. The servicepersons noted that they were pleased to see the smiling faces of the young, active generation participating in charity events to help the army.
Afterwards, a charity auction was held, at which various branded products of the University and the “Steel 100” were raffled off. It was possible to compete for mugs, notebooks, T-shirts, sweatshirts with the symbols of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University and the 100th SMBr. The most ardent was the fight for the Commander’s watch, the Brigade’s flag and “Coffee with Rector”.
Between the auctions, there was a chance to participate in photo sessions, a dance flash mob, and join the “live abbreviation” of “VNU” in the castle area.
During the auction, 34,200 hryvnias were collected, and 26,686 hryvnias received as donations to the boxes.
