The New Year-Christmas time at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University began with the opening of a nativity scene in front of the main building, which depicts the Bethlehem stable on Christmas Eve. The inside of “shopka” is covered with hay and filled with obligatory elements: figurines of Jesus Christ, the Mother of God, the Virgin Mary, and St. Joseph.
The opening of the Christmas installation was attended by Rector Anatolii Tsos, lecturers, students, University employees and Luck residents.

“For the first time this year, we had to work under martial law. But you and I are not ashamed of how we lived this year as we worked and helped the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Our workers were looking for ways to help the Motherland endure this war. First of all, we thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for allowing us to work and open this New Year and Christmas shopka. We had doubts about whether it should be installed or not, but life goes on. We must live on even during the war and create a festive mood for people. You can’t live under stress all the time. This shop will be another step towards our Victory. To all of us I wish good health, success in work and the earliest possible Victory,” said University Rector Anatolii Tsos.

The students of the Faculty of Culture and Arts as part of the “Rozmai” folklore ensemble together with the leader Oleksandr Marach and the “Dyvostruny” team congratulated the audience with the upcoming holidays singing carols and New Year’s songs.
At the end of the event, a picture was taken near the Christmas shopka.
