The 5th competition of creative ideas «Let’s make Volyn better! A step to recovery!» was held at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. The event started in the main building of the University with registration, coffee break and conversations with the attendees. The official part was opened by Rector Anatolii Tsos delivering a welcome speech. After that, a briefing of the competition was held and the results of the winners’ business ideas were presented.
Also, the «Mind Game» and the Project Management School took place in the University library, as well as an excursion to the leading enterprises of the city of Lutsk. 120 students participated in the fifth competition of creative ideas with 60 projects competing in three nominations: «Rich Community – Rich Citizens», «Community for the Protection of Everyone and All», «Clean Space – Good Health».
Alla Fatenok-Tkachuk, Deputy Dean for Recruitment and Work with Graduates of Faculty of Economics and Management, the competition organiser, noted that for over five years, more than 350 students from more than 100 schools in Lutsk and Volyn have participated in the competition.
During the final stage of the competition, Rector of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University Anatolii Tsios appreciated all the participants and mentors’ concern for their region and desire to make an asset to their lives and the life of their community. «I thank the students and lecturers for their work, no matter what. This is the most important thing we have to do now. I also thank my fellow organisers for the traditional competition. Our joint work with the students, parents and teachers will definitely lead us to the Victory!» said Anatolii Vasyliovych. After that, the head of the University and partners celebrated the winners of the competition in the nominations.
In the nomination «Rich Community – Rich Locals» the student of the Lutsk Lyceum No. 10 of Lutsk City Council Liliya Shevchuk («Ecofarm “Volynski Alpyˮ») was awarded with a 1st degree diploma. The 2nd degree diploma was received by a student of the Lyceum of the village of Dubechne Nataliia Kabarchuk («Pottery workshop “Creative touch”»). The 3rd degree diploma was taken by a student of the Berestechko Lyceum, Vadym Mykhaliuk («Saffron Plant Nursery as a Family Business Idea»). In the nomination «Community for the Protection of Everyone», the three winners were: 1st degree diploma – student of GSEE «Shelviv Lyceum» Maria Krasnovyd («The Chest in the Shelter»), 2nd degree diploma – a student of Merva Lyceum Sofiia Metelska («Schoolyard – the Playground of Dreams, the Territory of Joy»), III degree diploma - a student of Lyceum No. 5 named after Anatolii Korenevskyi of Volodymyr City Council Diana Kostiuk («Creative Workshop as a Centre for Creative Youth»).
The winners in the nomination «Clean Space – Good Health» were the students of Lutsk Lyceum No. 5 of Lutsk City Council Anna Bebko, Danyil Humeniuk, Yulia Mohylchenko with the project «Perennial Plants – a Profitable Prospect in Landscaping the Lutsk CTC “GREEN HORIZONˮ». Marta Novosad and Maksym Novosad, studying at Lutsk Lyceum No. 23 of Lutsk City Council, received a second degree diploma from the authors of the project «Valley of Dreams: Restoration of an Abandoned Village Square». The third prize winner in the nomination was Yana Yatsuk, a student of Lyceum of Krymne village, with the project «SOS!!! Let’s Save the Park in the Village of Krymne.»
Certain finalists were awarded certificates for their active lifestyle and desire for community development in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals. Besides, thanks and gifts in the form of certificates were given to educational institutions presenting the greatest number of projects during five years.
