On July 10, the graduation of the participants of the project “Retraining and social adaptation of servicemen, veterans and members of their families in Ukraine. Integration of the model of the "Norway–Ukraine" project in the state system "in the course of "Information Technology in Small Business” took place at Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University. The participants received diplomas from the Norwegian Ministry of Defense and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, certificates from Norwegian University NORD and Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University.
The “Norway–Ukraine” project, based on the professional retraining of ex-servicemen for civilian specialties in demand in the Ukrainian labor market, began in 2003. On the Ukrainian side, the project is implemented by the International Fund for Social Adaptation (Kyiv), the project partner on the Norwegian side is NORD University (Budo, Norway). The Fund's team, led by Volodymyr Rubtsov, has involved 15 Ukrainian universities in the project, including Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University since 2014. The project is 100 % sponsored by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The aim of the project is to reduce the impact of negative social consequences of economic and defense sector reforms in Ukraine for discharged servicemen, members of the Anti-terrorist operation and Joint Forces Operation, members of their families and promote cooperation between the two countries.
The implementation of this project contributes to the employment of project participants in order to improve the living conditions of servicemen’s families; creation of own (family) business in the conditions of high level unemployment in Ukraine, realization of organization abilities of servicemen and formation of resocialization in civilian life.
The graduation was attended by Rector of Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University Anatoli Tsos, President of the International Fund for Social Adaptation Volodymyr Rubtsov, the Deputy Chairman of the Volyn Regional Council Roman Karpyuk, the Director of the Department of Foreign Relations, Investment, Tourism and Resorts of Volyn Regional State Administration Ihor Chulipa, the Director of Public organization "Center for Public Education" Olha Ivankiv.
Volodymyr Rubtsov, President of the International Fund for Social Adaptation, told about the achievements of the "Norway–Ukraine" project over the entire period of its implementation. During this time, more than ten thousand project participants have acquired a new profession, 76 % of which have found jobs or started their own business.
“This project has brought together a lot of people, made them unite. I am pleased to announce that our cooperation will continue. An agreement has already been signed with the Norwegian Ministry of Defense and NORD University for the next three years, and I think our cooperation will not be limited to this project,” assured Volodymyr Rubtsov.
Anatoli Tsos together with Roman Karpyuk congratulated the graduates and solemnly awarded the diplomas of the Ministry of Defense of Norway and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, certificates of the Norwegian University NORD and Lesya Ukrainka Eatern European National University.
At the end of the ceremony, the participants of the project expressed their gratitude for the implementation of the project, which is extremely important given the importance of people involved in military actions in eastern Ukraine returning to normal life.
