Two years ago in October, the University Church of Saint Sophia Wisdom of God was consecrated. This year, the Divine Liturgy was led by Metropolitan Mykhail of Lutsk and Volyn. It is worth mentioning that the service was held on October 23, the day of the Cathedral of the Volyn Saints.
The liturgy was attended by Lesya’s people: employees, teachers and students of the University, led by Rector Anatolii Tsos; the Rector of the parish, Archpriest Victor Pushko; the Clergy of the city Deanery. The service was accompanied by the pontiff choir “Oranta” (Artistic Director, Honoured Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Moisiyuk).
After the end of the liturgy, Father Victor thanked Bishop Mykhail for his visit and prayers, and the students of the University presented loaves of bread to Metropolitan Lutsk and Volyn.
“The highest level of patriotism for us is to fulfill our professional duties with high quality. Also, we need to do everything for our joint victory,” said Rector Anatolii Tsos and recalled Bismarck’s words that the enemy goes where the teacher and the priest lose.
Metropolitan Mykhail of Lutsk and Volyn wished prosperity to Lesya Ukrainka University and called on everyone to attend services in the Church of Saint Sophia Wisdom of God.
