On June 24, a Cooperation Agreement concerning dual education implementation as a part of “Clinical Psychology” Master’s Program was signed between Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University and the charitable organization “Butterfly”.
Signed by Anatolii Tsos, the Rector of the University and Lina Galan, the CO “Butterfly” authorized representative, the Head of the Lutsk City Center of Social Services for Families, Children and Youth, the agreement aims at improvement of practical skills quality of students studying “Clinical Psychology”. Master student Viktoriia Maistruk, in particular, works as a member of a mobile team and provides consulting, tips for crisis and emergency intervention, social prevention measures for victims of violence as well as war-affected displaced population. The work of mobile teams was made possible due to cooperation with UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) that started with the project “A Stepping Stone to Equality” and was later translated into mobile psychological help.
Among others who took part in the meeting there were cooperation initiators Larysa Zasiekina, Head of “Clinical Psychology” Master’s program, Vice Rector for Research and International Affairs, and Olena Zhuravlova, Head of the Department of General and Clinical Psychology.
Participants also discussed the significant importance of the clinical psychologists’ professional activity during the wartime and post-war period. Lina Galan stressed that when the psychological command staff was being formed during the first days of war, the first to respond eagerly agree to join the initiative were psychologists from Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. “Your professors and students demonstrate high level of professional competence and proficiency and this gives us an opportunity to work efficiently, to take part in different projects moving on to a whole new level”, Lina Viktorivna said.
The Rector of the University expressed his gratitude to the Lutsk City Center of Social Services for Families, Children and Youth and its leader Lina Galan for cooperation and hope for successful and win-win cooperation in the future.
