13 students of the first (Bachelor) level of higher education in the Specialty 013 Elementary Education, seven lyceums of the city of Lutsk, Volyn region and Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University signed a tripartite agreement on obtaining higher education with the use of elements of dual education. The venue took place on October 24, 2023.
Vice-Rector for Academic Work and Recruitment Yurii Hromyk emphasized the importance of introducing elements of dual education into the educational process nowadays.
The guarantor of Educational and Professional Programme «Primary Education», Professor of Department of Theory and Methodology of Primary Education, Valentyna Vitiuk noted that the elements of dual education were first implemented at EPP «Primary Education» in 2022/2023. These were three students who studied at the first (Bachelor) level of higher education on the basis of the acquired educational qualification level «Junior Specialist». This year, 13 winners work as a teacher/assistant teacher of primary classes and study in the dual form. In accordance with the concluded programme and individual plan of practical training at the workplace using elements of dual education, students acquire theoretical material either at the University or independently, and practical, laboratory classes on methods of educational fields, educational and industrial practices are held in public and private schools ownership, where mentors help to form general and special (specialist) competencies in students, determine and evaluate the programme learning outcomes.
Valentyna Vitiuk said that during June-August, our 2nd year students underwent summer (pedagogical) practice in school and extracurricular education institutions under the leadership of Associate Professor Tetiana Zdikhovska. The students who had performed the best were invited to take part in the competition for the position of Teacher/Assistant Teacher of Lutsk Lyceum «Respublika» LLC. Currently, five third-year students (Bohdana Pasternak, Viktoriia Korniichuk, Iryna Chukhrai, Liliia Babii, Yuliia Solomoniuk) are working at the lyceum and studying in a dual form.
Stakeholder, Deputy Director for Educational Work of Lutsk Lyceum «Respublika» LLC Valentyna Mysko defined the value of dual education in the context of the New Ukrainian School requirements for students, employers and institutions of higher education, noted the high level of training of undergraduates and recommended continuing to provide modern practical oriented educational services.
Stakeholder, Deputy Director of Educational Work of Rovantsiv Lyceum of Boratyn Village Council of Volyn Region, a Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University graduate Inna Herasymchuk positively evaluated the professional training of third-year student Nataliia Bozhko, emphasized the importance of professional qualities and soft skills in the work of a primary school teacher.
After signing the documents, Yurii Hromyk thanked for the cooperation and wished everyone success.
