The Day of Physical Culture and Sports was celebrated at Lesya Ukrainka Voyn National University. To celebrate the holiday, a number of events were organised by the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health and other representatives of the University.
The opening ceremony took place in the sports complex of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. Its participants were: Rector Anatolii Tsios, the Chairman of the Board of Igor Palytsia Foundation “Only Together” Kateryna Shklioda, Director of the Volyn Regional Center for Physical Health of the Population “Sports for All” Oleksandr Kulakov, Director of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lutsk City Council Volodymyr Zahozhyi, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health Vasyl Pantik, leading trainers, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health.
Conventionally, the event began with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and a moment of silence. Afterwards, Rector Anatolii Tsios was invited to speak. “How long are we to wait for victory? Waiting takes a long time. If each of us will do our best for victory, it will be quicker. The university has taken a clear civic stance. Our students and lecturers are protecting Ukraine, volunteering, everyone is pushing the limits win,” Rector said.
Later on, other members of the presidium expressed their congratulations. The honoured guests presented certificates and gratitude awards to the coaches, lecturers and athletes.
After that, a fitness warm-up was held for the attendants. As part of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports, sports shooting session for teachers was organised, as well as a number of tournaments: the men’s volleyball teams “Park Volleyball of VNU”; Special Olympics of Ukraine in football; checkers for interdisciplinary students; and basketball.
