As a delegate of the final pitch winners within the StarterAcademia project “YEP – Entrepreneurial University!”, the Associate Professor of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Marketing Tetiana Sak visited the University of Tartu and joined the sTARTUp Day, taking place on August 24–26, 2022 in Estonia.
The activities began with an introduction to the Delta Center business school, its structure and management. The hospitality of the Estonian partners, empathy in the context of the war in Ukraine was perceived in every building of the University of Tartu and the city.
STARTUp Day is the largest business festival in the Baltic states, gathering more than 3,000 startups this year, as well as investors, founders, business owners for networking, meetings, workshops, numerous seminars and pitches.
sTARTUp Day participants were treated to a festival atmosphere mixed with an inspiring educational stage programme, hands-on workshops, and a demo area full of innovations. Countless pitching competitions provided an opportunity to gain insight into local startups, read business cases, meet founders of innovative enterprises, and listen to the stories from world-class speakers.
The sTARTUp community contains an ecosystem of hubs, incubators, startups and technology companies in various industries, from creative industries to bio- and space technologies.
The experience of the University of Tartu, Delta Management School, which provides incubation services for student startups operates student startup clubs, and startup laboratories, inspires the implementation of similar innovation centres at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
