On September 7, the presentation of the publication on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the faculty took place in the Space of Ideas of the Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security. The venue was attended by the University Rector Anatolii Tsios, the Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Communication Nataliia Blahovirna, the Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Recruitment Yurii Hromyk, lecturers and students.
The event was opened by Yaroslav Yarosh, the Dean of the Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security. In his introductory speech, Yaroslav Bogdanovych sounded convinced that the faculty, which has a good and glorious tradition, nurtures and educates the elite not only of the University, but also of Ukraine in general.
Yaroslav Yarosh also spoke about the publication itself containing the information about the history of the faculty, its heads, institutional development of the departments, achievements (and these are specialised academic councils, thorough scientific publications, developed student self-government, and more), famous graduates, as well as illustrated by numerous images and interesting retro photos. The last chapter is about the participants in the war in the east of Ukraine. Yaroslav Yarosh emphasized that today, during russia’s full-scale invasion into Ukraine, the faculty already has the perished Heroes, who were commemorated by a moment of silence.
Then the floor was given to those who were involved in writing the sections of the publication: Svitlana Gavrilyuk, Valentyna Nadolska, Oksana Yarosh, Taras Litkovets, Viktoria Bilyk, Larysa Poniedielnyk.
Afterwards, Rector Anatolii Tsios addressed the audience with a congratulatory speech: “This work is the daily painstaking work of each member of the collective. It’s amazing what people can do as a team. And for 75 years, the team has created a wonderful story that is the foundation for future development. It was a strategically correct decision to develop political science along with history, to add the Specialty 251 State Security to the faculty. This gave a new and strong impetus to the development of the faculty and the preservation of scientific personnel.” The Head of the University also noted: “It is extremely gratifying that in today’s conditions, the lecturers manifest themselves in completely different directions: scientific, public, political work, work with children, but the most important thing is that we all care. Let’s remember the first days of the war. The first volunteer centre was created by the students at the Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security. This shows that we care and are ready to fulfill our duty at out positions. Thank you all for your work. First of all, I wish you health and success in your professional work, because our future depends on the kind of education we provide to students. I wish everyone Victory, because only it will allow Ukraine to exist as a state, and Ukrainians to live as a nation with its own culture, history and future.”
Finally, Anatolii Tsios once again congratulated the staff of the faculty. The lecturers received thanks from the Rector, pleasant gifts, as well as jubilee awards of the faculty (the design was developed by Dmytro Avramenko, the Head of the Design Department).
