On September 9, the solemn inauguration of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University students took place at Viktor Zavatskyi Stadium. The event was attended by the representatives of authorities, clergy, public, employees, lecturers and students. The main actors of the event are freshmen, undoubtedly.
Metropolitan Michael of Lutsk and Volyn blessed the youth for successful studies. He thanked everyone staying to live and study in Ukraine, in particular in Volyn, and wished them to study in the classroom format and become good specialists in their field.
In his speech, Rector Anatolii Tsos mentioned the glorious educational traditions of Volyn and the University, talked about the high ranking positions of Lesya Ukrainka University. Rector noted that our joint task is to do everything for the Victory of Ukraine. «We have the best lecturers and students. You are the best, because here in Ukraine you will study, live and work for its benefit,» said Anatolii Tsos. In addition, he thanked students and parents for believing in Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. After that, Rector presented diplomas to first-year students and students.
People's Deputy of Ukraine Iryna Konstankevych said that the possibility to hold such an event as the inauguration of students should be owed to the Heroes of Ukraine, the male and female defenders guarding our state from the enemy. «We should also thank those who studied at our University and created its traditions. These traditions are many years old and this is our foundation,» said Iryna Konstankevych, and after that, she presented the University team with a canvas from the graduates wishing to remain anonymous.
«We don't have holidays today, but there are events that make us stronger, give us inspiration,» said Lutsk Deputy Mayor Iryna Chebeliuk. She wished the first-year students that every day should bring new knowledge and discoveries, pass under God's and the Armed Forces' of Ukraine protection.
Nataliia Matviiuk, Head of Department of Education and Science of Volyn Oblast, wished the first-year students to go confidently towards their objective. «You have already taken a big step entering the best institution of higher education in Volyn and planning to develop our Ukraine,» she said.
Petro Hlushko, a graduate of the University and a military of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, also addressed the audience: «I want to wish the students to study easily and productively, value every day, not to play truant from classes, because student years are a good period of life not to be forgotten. Wishing peace and victory to us.»
Head of the University Student Council, Maksym Pyvovarchuk, also addressed the first-year students. During the event, several patriotic numbers were presented to the audience.
