On November 3, a charity race was held at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University in support of the graduates who had defended the Motherland in the ranks of the Azov Regiment and were captured by russians. One of them is Vladyslav Oksenchuk, who received higher education at the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health and is known for athletics activity.
“Help Instead of Being Silent!” was the motto of the event. The session which was organised by the University and the Student Council started near the main building with a joint performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and a moment of silence. It is important to note that a charity fundraiser for the Armed Forces was arranged during the event.
“Since the beginning of the full-scale war, every conscientious Ukrainian has asked the question: “What is my personal participation in this resistance?” As Rector Anatolii Vasyliovych Tsos remarked, the main thing for the University today is to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and provide our students with all the necessary professional knowledge, because this is us who should guarantee the end of war in Ukraine,” commented Nataliia Blahovirna, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Communication.
The race took place on the central alley of Lesya Ukrainka Culture and Recreation Park. We hope that all prisoners of war will return to their homes as soon as possible.
