March 4, 2025, a third futsal tournament was traditionally held at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. The participants of this year's competition were: Rivne State Humanitarian University, Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University, Lutsk National Technical University, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Lviv State University of Physical Culture.
“Our university is named after Lesya Ukrainka. Our task is to do everything to popularise Lesya Ukrainka's works, and we do this in the fields of history and philology, but Lesya Ukrainka can also be popularised in sports, which, in fact, you are doing. We are organising this cup for the third time, competing with our partner universities. We have developed excellent relations with the higher education institutions that have joined today. Two years ago, the VNU team did not make it to the top three, but on the contrary, could win last year. I hope that this time our guys will be able to defend their championship title,” said acting rector Anatolii Tsos.
The tournament was held with the support of the Ihor Palytsa “Only Together” Fund. The event was attended by the head of the fund, Kateryna Shklioda, who emphasized the great importance of the University in the sports life of Volyn and the large number of professional athletes.
The tournament started with the teams of Rivne State Humanitarian University and Lutsk National Technical University.
Thus, the first place in the “Lesya Ukrainka University Cup” futsal tournament was won by the team of Lviv State University of Physical Culture. Second place was Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. Third place was taken by Lutsk National Technical University.
The tournament ended with the awarding of the winners, the presentation of cups and medals, as well as the exchange of friendly greetings between the teams.
