Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University has fruitfully cooperated with Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa for many years.
Rector Anatolii Tsos remarked: «The cooperation between Lesya Ukrainka University and Yan Dlugosh University is marked by longevity and a significant number of initiatives and projects jointly and successfully implemented by higher education institutions. An important stage of development was initiated after the signing of cooperation agreement on May 30, 2015»
Since then, the cooperation has deepened. Today, universities are successfully implementing Bachelor’s programme within the «Double Diploma» framework in a number of specialties. These are, in particular, «Ecology», «Physics», «Chemistry», «Informatics», «Mathematics», «Social work», «Tourism», «Physical therapy», «Economics», «Polish Philology», «Physical Education», «National Security».
According to Anatolii Tsos, since 2016, 261 students of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University have received their education within the framework of the «Double Diploma» programme at Jan Dlugosh University. In total, about 300 foreign students from Ukraine, Belarus, Croatia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are studying at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, which recently received the status of a classical university. It is remarkable that almost 50 % of them (147 people) are the students of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University studying under the 2Double Diploma» programme.
Anatolii Vasyliovych emphasized that the cooperation of higher education institutions of Lutsk and Czestochowa is realised in different directions. In particular, under the Erasmus+ programme, lecturers and students of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University participate in academic mobility programmes implemented without fees by the Polish university.
After the full-scale invasion of russia, Polish partners from Czestochowa have repeatedly provided humanitarian aid. A portion of the aid was given to the military, and the rest to internally displaced persons living in hostels. In addition, Anatolii Vasyliovych noted that it was Yan Dlugosh University that attracted Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University to the European University Alliance «COLORUS» as an associate partner.
During the celebrations on the occasion of the beginning of academic year, Rector of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, Prof. Dr. Gab. Anna Vypykh-Gavronska presented an honorary diploma to Head of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University Professor Anatolii Tsos, with which she expressed her gratitude for many years of cooperation, the result of which is the high quality of scientific and educational work, as well as the development of young scientific personnel.
