We continue talking about our graduates that we are proud of. It is or honour today to tell more about Elvira Yatsuta, the Head of the “Stendal Art Association” NGO and one of the organisers of the largest festivals, forums and cultural events in Volyn. Now she is an active volunteer and an example for many. Elvira is actively involved in the Volunteer Assistance Centre of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Hangar”, which actively helps everyone in need. The Hangar Volunteer Relief Centre has been operating since the first day of Russia’s full-scale invasion into Ukraine. Actors of the amateur theatre “Garmyder”, Lutsk photographers, journalists and caring Volyn residents volunteered, it should be noted that many of them are graduates of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. Elvira Yatsuta is involved in logistics at the Hangar Help Centre.
– Elvira, tell us, when did you join the volunteering?
–I have been volunteering from school. In the 11th grade she helped to prepare the “Nash Krai” newspaper in her hometown of Dubrovytsia. Since February 24, I have been a team member of the volunteer centre “Hangar” together with colleagues and friends from the “Garmyder” theater, the “Commonwealth-Volyn” Charitable Foundation. We came together spontaneously and situationally, we are already working as one unbreakable organism. .
– Tell us why young people should join volunteering?
– It is important to remember that volunteering is not just about giving your time and moral / physical resources. This is a unique opportunity to find your people in all areas, in all cities and on (without exaggeration) continents. The volunteer goes through all the stages: from incredible passion to endless fatigue. But gets enormous feedback. Everyone one’s own..
– What difficulties do you face?
– It is always individual. The main thing is to know why you are doing it, then the difficulties are overcome.
– What is will you do first thing after the victory?
– I will go to my parents.
