On November 26, 2023, a meeting of the visitors of the veteran space «Plus Plus ++» took place with the American veteran Richard Davis and his wife Tina Davis, who came from the State of Tennessee (United States of America). Richard has 20 years of experience as a Special Forces Officer in the US Army. Participating in humanitarian and military operations, he was stationed in various countries including Afghanistan and Iraq. Richard is currently a Military Pastor at First Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN, as well as Area Director for Soul Survivor Outdoor.
The couple have been together for 34 years, have two daughters and seven grandchildren. Tina said that they got married at the age of 19. After Richard's service in hot spots, «the man she married is no longer there and will never be.» However, as Tina herself noted, she has also changed. She supports Richard and this helps him cope with the effects of the war such as flashbacks and sleeping problems. In the US, the couple helps war veterans and their families.
Richard shared how he and his wife help veterans find a new occupation, new goals and values after their service ends. He noted that it is difficult for veterans to integrate into ordinary cultural life, but it is worth remembering that they are part of society. Richard emphasized that the psychological recovery of veterans is extremely important. A support network needs to be created for them so that they can share their feelings and experiences.
