The Student Council of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University is a team of creative, proactive, responsible students motivated to achieve a common and very important goal: providing a comfortable educational environment and interesting leisure time.
On September 7, a meeting of student deans took place with Rector Anatolii Tsios and the Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Communication Nataliia Blahovirna, during which various problems of young people were discussed. In particular, the main issues were: the proper arrangement of student dormitories, shelters in educational buildings, the introduction of a daily minute of silence in the memory of the fallen Heroes and civilians during the russian-Ukrainian war.
By the way, the Rector emphasized that offline education will continue as long as possible: “We have to assess the real threat and perspective of quality education.”
It should also not be forgotten that in difficult times for the country, life goes on. Studying at the University is not only about the classes and passing the credit-examination session, but also about a good rest helping to find new acquaintances and soul mates. The Head of the Student Council, Maksym Pyvovarchuk, suggested organising a trip to the picturesque (hopefully safe) regions of our country. The leaders of the University favoured such an idea, but focused attention on the fact that it is worth treating the organisation with responsibility.
Quite a few students are concerned about the issue of dormitories, in particular comfortable living in them, because it is the room in the dormitories that becomes a second home for several years. In order to establish high-quality communication between the campus and students of education, it was proposed to “admit to the staff” the inspector of the campus. The purpose of such implementation is to ensure equality among the residents of the hostels, regardless of their social status. The ways to finance the student council and find a new office for it were also discussed. Planning is conducted to collect humanitarian aid for Ukrainian fighters from the student council.
Another cool idea is cooperation with the student council of the Jan Dlugos University of Humanities and Natural Sciences in Częstochowa (Republic of Poland). In our student self-government’s opinion, this will help to improve the cooperation of higher education institutions not only at the level of specialties, but also between all faculties.
The Rector assured everyone present of his support and urged them to join forces for good results.
