Digital literacy is an integral component of the general awareness of young people and a component of a person’s media literacy. And in war times and constant information threats, these skills are more relevant than ever. These are the basic skills of every conscientious Ukrainian. It is possible to achieve this knowledge and skills only in close cooperation with everyone working in the field of spreading digital literacy, cyber security and information interaction. Memorandum of cooperation was signed between Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University and the US Civilian Research and Development Fund (CRDF Global) to implement and improve educational needs in digital literacy and cyber security.
Parties agreed on broad information interaction, educational projects at the universal (for applicants of non-technical specialties) and professional (for applicants of specialty 125 Cybersecurity) levels. It is necessary to improve awareness of digital tools and possible challenges in the world of digital information interaction.
The partnership with the Civil Research and Development Fund (CRDF Global Ukraine) involves cooperation with lecturers and students in the field of dissemination and transformation of knowledge, implementation of educational vectors and raising the level of general digital literacy, in particular, through the formation of skills of fake news identification, promotion of information protection in social networks, prevention of Internet fraudsters’ influence. Continuation of comprehensive digital security promotion, cyber and media literacy among young people were agreed upon.
