A Memorandum of Understanding about Academic Cooperation was signed between Wesleyan University (USA) in the person of Vice-Rector Nicole Stanton and Associate Vice-Rector Mark Hovey and Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University in the person of Rector Anatolii Tsos, acting on the basis of the Charter, recognizing the importance of academic exchanges, which includes teaching and research.
The parties agreed to conclude a memorandum for the creation, development and improvement of cooperation in the educational and scientific spheres, particularly in the sphere of learning, teaching and research. The Memorandum is designed to encourage and facilitate the development of mutually beneficial relations between Wesleyan University and Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
Cooperation in educational programs includes:
- design of scientific and research activity;
- exchange and/or attending the educational and scientific research programs by teachers;
- student exchanges and/or attending the research and study programs;
- participation in seminars and conferences;
- exchange of academic materials, results of teaching and research activities and other information;
- special short-term training programs;
- other types of activities that can be mutually beneficial.
Associate Professor, Dr. Katja Kolcio (Wesleyan University) and the Head of Practical Psychology and Psychodiagnostics Department, Associate Professor Liudmyla Mahdysiuk and Associate Professor Antonii Melnyk (Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University) are responsible for the Memorandum implementation.
The memorandum enters into force on the day of its signing by representatives of both parties and is considered to be valid for the period of five years.
