On September 13, «The University Golden Fund: Encyclopedia of Alumni» edition was presented at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
This is the first reference-biographical information-image encyclopedia within «The Chronicles of Lesya Ukrainka University: from A to Z» project. It contains information about graduates who succeeded as professionals in various spheres of social life. The lion's share of them attended the presentation of the publication. In addition, other Lesya's people gathered in the hall – the University management, lecturers, employees and students.
Larysa Poniedielnik, a compiler and editor of the edition, an executive director of Lesya Ukrainka University Alumni Association, took the floor first. «Today, our University is the most respected and most powerful in the entire Volyn region,» she said. She also added that the institution is proud of every student, lecturer and graduate. «All of us are united by our youth spent at our native University,» concluded Larysa Anatoliivna.
Later on, Rector Anatolii Tsos known to have studied at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University was invited to speak. He thanked Larysa Poniedielnik for her work on the publication and contribution to the development of higher educational institution. «Any university is famous for its successful graduates, because a successful graduate is the institution's business card,» he said. In addition, Anatolii Tsos mentioned Volyn educational tradition and the development of our higher educational institution.
Hryhorii Nedopad, another well-known Lesya University's graduate, said that his best years of youth were spent at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University and made a congratulation speech. «I came here when I was 17 years old, a young lad with plenty of ideas and thoughts. When I received my diploma, I already had completely different plans, I was a formed person ready to go my own way and objectives to do something not only for myself but also for my own region,» said Hryhorii Nedopad. According to him, people from Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University always walk beside him in his life.
During the event, a number of famous graduates of our educational establishment spoke. The venue was accompanied by artistic performances of Lesya's people.
