On September 26, 2024, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University was visited by an honoured guest – Rector of Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University, Ilya Khadzhynov.
During his visit, he held a motivational lecture for students majoring in 291 International Relations, Public Communications and Regional Studies, 292 International Economic Relations and 035 Foreign Philology. Due to the air alert and for security reasons, the lecture took place in a shelter. In his speech, Ilya Khadzhynov shared his own experience with the students and told the story of Donetsk National University, which had to be relocated to Vinnytsia after it was occupied by the occupiers in 2014. "I remember how ten years ago, on September 16, our campus university in Donetsk was occupied, and a few days later, around September 20, the main building was also seized. But I want to note that the university building was the only one with the Ukrainian flag hanging until September 25. When it was removed, I realised that, unfortunately, my university in Donetsk died," Ilya Vasyliovych shared.
Rector also emphasized the importance of cultivating adaptability and the ability to quickly get used to any circumstances. During the lecture, the students had the opportunity to ask Ilya Khadzhynov questions and receive comprehensive answers.
