Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University partnered with the “Center for Public Education” NGO with the support of the International Fund for Social Adaptation, are resuming the implementation of the “Norway – Ukraine” project for the “Technologies of Starting and Running a Business”.
The programme of social adaptation of servicepersons in military reserve was initiated in 2003. The partners of the project are 16 Ukrainian institutions of higher education, including Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
The project’s goal is professional retraining of the target group for civilian specialties highly demanded on the labor market of Ukraine, assistance to project participants in social adaptation to living conditions in civil society. The educating executives are Lesya Ukrainka University and the Norwegian NORD University which organise and carry out professional retraining of project participants. The graduates receive three documents: the Lesya Ukrainka State University State Certificate of Professional Retraining, the Joint Certificate of NORD University and Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, the Joint Diploma of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense of Norway.
The following individuals can participate in the project:
1. Personnel servicepersons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other power structures released to the reserve or ending their service in the current year.
2. Participants in hostilities.
3. Family members of all above mentioned categories.
4. Members of the families of the deceased combatants.
5. Volunteers.
The project started at the University in September 2014 and lasted until December 2016. During this period, retraining of five groups of servicepersons, released into the reserve, participants of anti-terrorist operation and their families was carried out in the specialties of “Business Management”, “Organisation Management” and “Energy-Efficient Economy”.
On April 6, 2020, a new contract was signed with the International Fund for Social Adaptation regarding the implementation of the project “Retraining and Social Adaptation of Servicemen, Veterans and their Family Members in Ukraine. The Integration of the “Norway – Ukraine” project model into the state system’ in the direction of “Information technologies in small business”. In 2020, 59 people became listeners of the project. Last year, under the project, 121 trainees were trained in the specialty “Information Technologies in Small Business” in two cities of Volyn region, Lutsk and Volodymyr-Volynskyi.
This year, in the fall semester, the training will take place in two cities of Volyn region, Lutsk and Volodymyr, in the specialty “Technologies of Starting and Running a Business”.
