The participants of the “History of Lesya’s University” Internet quiz among students of general secondary education institutions of Volyn region received their awards. Students and teachers from various parts of Volyn arrived for the event held in the main building of the University.
The awarding ceremony for the best participants was attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Work and Recruitment Yurii Hromyk, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Communication Nataliia Blahovirna, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Cooperation Liudmyla Yelisieieva and Competition Coordinator, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine and Archeology Larysa Hodyk-Poniedielnik.
Larysa Hodyk-Poniedielnik noted that the quiz was initiated by the Department of History of Ukraine and Archeology of the Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security. “We love history very much and we want our history to be known not only by school students and teachers, but also by university students and all Volyn residents. That was the purpose of the quiz. The questions were quite diverse, but our students showed good knowledge about the life of the institution and its patrons,” said Larysa Hodyk-Poniedielnik.
Vice-Rector for Academic Work and Recruitment Yurii Hromyk noted that the fact of conducting the quiz is very pleasant, because all employees of the University are proud of its history and achievements. Vice-Rector also invited the students to continue their studies and obtain higher education in the oldest and largest higher education institution in Volyn: “Many of our graduates work at the University. This means that we are the institution of higher education which can train a person who is successful, professionally organised, prepared, and one that we are not ashamed of.”
Liudmyla Yelisieieva, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Cooperation, also supported her colleague and invited school students to become the students of Lesya University, spoke about international cooperation with the countries of the European Union, the implementation of the “Double Diploma” programme and other opportunities that are open to students.
Vice-Rector Nataliia Blahovirna told the audience about educational work at Lesya Ukrainka University. “You know a lot about the University, so you are interested in us and read our information resources. This means that you are already us. I thank you very much for that. The University has such a hashtag #Lesyni_liudy, so you can already be considered a part of our family. We are interested in young people being active, intellectually developed, and educated, so we invite you to become our students and join the development of Ukraine as active citizens and highly qualified specialists,” said Nataliia Blahovirna.
Subsequently, the students received diplomas of the I, II and III degrees for winning the quiz, and their mentors obtained letters of gratitude for their educational institutions fruitfully cooperating and significantly contributing to the formation of modern, comprehensively developed, socially conscious student youth, their educational and patriotic education.
