The first event was a motivational meeting with successful university scientists in the fields of philology, history, biology and technical sciences organized by the Young Scientists Council of Lesya Ukrainka University.
“Our speakers are the people who managed to prove by their own example that science is not necessarily something complicated and incomprehensible. It can be lifework. The main purpose of the meeting is to stimulate students’ inner motivation to pursue science,” said Hennadii Holub, the Chairman of University’s Young Scientists Council..
Larysa Zasiekina, Doctor of Psychology, Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs opened the festival with the welcoming speech. “I am pleased that the Science Festival has started with such an interesting event, she said, – because the associations connected with the word "science" are unfortunately not always very positive. However, I am strongly convinced that science is worth doing. I have never ever regretted the choice I made. Our University’s community is very friendly. You can always find like-minded people!”.
The speakers at the event were lllia Kuznietsov, an expert in Human and Animal Physiology, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor; Tetiana Holovenko, an expert in Mechanical Engineering and Light Industry of LNTU, Doctor of Engineering Sciences; Serhii Zasiekin, an expert in Psycholinguistics and Translation, Doctor of Philology; and Tetiana Yatsechko-Blazhenko, an expert in the history of Volyn.
“Today's meeting is of particular importance, because its purpose is to share experiences with the young scientists and to advise them how to cope with difficulties. It was useful and valuable to listen to fellow-scientists sharing their experience about the importance of language learning and the academic integrity. Such events are very motivating. I hope that young scientists have learned a lot and will be able to take advantage of the experience they have got and apply it in different research projects,” said Tetiana Yatsechko-Blazhenko.
After the speeches had been delivered, the scientists proceeded to talking to students and answering their questions.
