I chose Ukraine to study because it has a high quality of education and all universities are available to foreign students who want to get a higher education. In addition, it was very interesting for me to visit one of the largest countries in Europe and to get acquainted with its culture, customs and to learn the language of this country.
After finishing my postgraduate studies, I defended my Ph.D thesis in Ukrainian language and achieved a degree of Candidate of Philological Sciences (specialty 10.02.04 – Germanic languages). Then I received a nostrification of the Ukrainian diploma of the candidate from the Ministry of Education of Algeria. I am currently an associate professor of German philology at the University of Algiers 2 - Abou EL Kacem Saâdallah in the Algerian capital. In addition, I am engaged in scientific coordination between the universities of both countries regarding exchange of experience and academic information.
I have so many warm memories that it is impossible to list them all. I often remember with a smile how I traveled to Ukraine, how I met Ukrainians, how I learned the language, how I bought coffee for the first time using the Ukrainian language, went on various excursions, and saw Ukrainian nature and culture. I am incredibly happy to have many friends in Ukraine and to meet my wife Solomiia there. I am also very proud that I managed to become a volunteer, teaching German, French and Arabic at the Faculty of Foreign Philology of the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. It gave me an unforgettable experience.
I wish all foreign students success. I also wish them to master the Ukrainian language for successful integration into the society and to better understand the kind and generous Ukrainian people.
