On September 24, 2024, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University held a session of Academic Council dedicated to the Day of Education Workers and the Day of Defenders of Ukraine.
The Academic Council began in the shelter due to the signal of the air raid as a reminder that we are living in far from the frontline but in conditions of war. "We take care of ourselves and stay in shelter. This is our life with you and it must be protected," Anatolii Tsos emphasised.
The meeting began with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and a moment of silence in memory of the fallen soldiers. Rector of Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University, Ilya Khadzhynov, was also present at the event.
"Good afternoon, dear members of Academic Council, colleagues, students. I want to say that we have met Anatolii Vasyliovych this spring. We developed a very good relationship during the trip to Strasbourg. That's when I felt that we should meet and sign the agreement, which happened today. An agreement on cooperation between our universities was signed. This will contribute not only to the development of our higher education institutions, but also to the education of Ukraine and the country in general," Ilya Khadzhynov greeted the guests.
The orchestra of folk instruments "Volynianka" arrived to congratulate the guests on the Day of Education Workers.
"Dear colleagues, dear guests, students and teachers. First of all, I want to thank our veterans and soldiers for your hard work, patriotism, thanks to which we have the opportunity to work and teach students, because this is also really necessary. The war will end, and Ukraine must progress, and this is possible only when there are experienced, wise Ukrainians who will stay in Ukraine and work for its benefit. This is our main task," Rector Anatolii Tsos greeted the guests.
Awards were also presented. For demonstrated patriotism and courage, civic stance, dedication to the cause of protecting the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University recognised:
– Roman Olehovych Bernikov, a third-year student at Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security;
– Petro Valeriyovych Hlushko, a graduate student of the 4th year of Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health;
– Oleh Mykolayovych Dmytrenko, Candidate of Military Sciences, Head of National Security Department;
– Dmytro Serhiyevych Zinin, a student of the 1st year of Faculty of Culture and Arts;
– Vladyslav Pavlovych Litkovich , a student of the 3rd year of Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security;
– Volodymyr Stepanovych Sobchuk, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Director of the University library.
For initiative and perseverance, high professionalism, conscientious performance of official duties, significant personal contribution to the development of the sphere of education and science of Ukraine, the Badge of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine "Excellence in Education" was awarded to:
– Yuriy Vasyliovych Hromyk, Vice-Rector for Academic Work and Recruitment;
– Nadiia Fedorivna Chubokha , Assisitant Professor of Department of Civil and Legal Disciplines.

For a significant personal contribution to the development of national education, fruitful scientific and pedagogical activities, training of qualified specialists, high professionalism and on the occasion of the Day of Education Workers, honorary certificates of the Volyn Regional Council were awarded to:

In accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine No. 920 dated June 26, 2024, the academic title of Professor was awarded to the employees of the University:
