A different format and a more complex result are what we expect from the task. Together with Stanislav Olshevskyi, a tourism consultant at Volyn Regional Council, the lecturers of Department of Design presented a practical task for third-year students. Everything is as usual: teamwork presupposing joint management of design processes, communication, critical analysis in search of modern trends in creating relevant design, time management and, of course, leadership, that is, conditions similar to the usual work of designers.


As Stanislav Olshevskyi noted, a tourist character, or a mascot, is an effective tool for promoting a region, because it creates an easily remembered recognisable image, able to reflect the unique features of the area, its history, culture or natural resources. Mascots help attract tourists and create an emotional connection with the place they represent. Thanks to them, the branding of the region can be developed through souvenir products, events and online content. This is a modern and creative way of increasing the popularity of the area.
