On December 17, 2024, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University hosted an award ceremony for the most active students of the department and a presentation of student projects at Department of Design.
The event was attended by Rector Anatolii Tsos, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Communication Nataliia Blahovirna, Dean of Faculty of Culture and Arts Vitaliy Okhmanyuk, Head of Department of Design of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University Dmytro Avramenko, Head of Department of Design of Cherkasy State Technical University Inna Yakovets, lecturers and students of ChSTU, as well as representatives of the Department of Fine Arts, Design and Methods of Their Teaching of Volodymyr Hnatiuk Ternopil State Pedagogical University.
«We have several educational programmes at the University that I am truly proud of, and one of them is Department of Design. We started from scratch, there were not even premises, and in three and a half years the department has grown into a powerful structural unit, and the students have shown real creativity, imagination and talent,» – said the Rector Anatolii Tsos.
During the event, the most active students were recognised, presented gifts and certificates. «I would like to thank the entire team of Department of Design for their hard work and, of course, express my gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for our protection and providing the students with the opportunity to study and develop» – summed up Dean of Faculty of Culture and Arts Vitalii Okhmaniuk.
In the second part of the event, the students of various courses of the department of presented their creative projects. In particular, several board games based on the history and culture of Volyn region and Lutsk, the design of corridors for Faculty of Law and other works.
The event demonstrated the high level of the students’ training, their ability to combine traditions and modern design trends, and also contributed to the exchange of experience between the universities and the development of creative cooperation between the students and teaching staff.
