On December 16, 2024, several hundred Lesya’s people gathered for a staff conference of our higher education institution. The location of the event was Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security.

The event began with a report by Anatolii Tsos on the activities of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University in 2024. At the beginning, Rector noted that owing to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the institution is able to function in relatively safe conditions and work full-time.

In his report, Anatolii Vasylovych emphasized the importance of volunteer initiatives and thanked the team for their concern. In particular, the funds for the defenders were collected during charity fair marathons and thanks to the transfer of one-day earnings of the University employees. In the end, thanks to these funds, it was possible to purchase the necessary goods and transfer them to the militaries. Rector thanked international partners who had also provided assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During his speech, Anatolii Tsos singled out students, graduates, employees and teachers of the University who defend Ukraine from the enemy. Unfortunately, some died. Those present honored their memory with a minute of silence, and the rector read out the names of the Heroes.

According to the rector, 123 people from Lesina are receiving education and at the same time serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine or are war veterans. «The creation of a veteran space is very important for supporting veterans. A place has already been chosen on the first floor of the Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security. The space will consist of two parts: one for holding conversations, meetings and providing psychological support, the other for a center for physical rehabilitation and adaptive sports. I think that by the New Year the reconstruction project will be ready,» said Anatolii Vasylovych.

Rector emphasized the psychological support of veterans and internally displaced persons. These services are also provided by the lecturers and employees of the institution. In addition, the University organises meetings with war veterans and active military personnel.

«Our main mission is to provide quality education for students,» Anatolii Vasylovych emphasized and noted that back in 2020, 6,511 students had studied at the University, and currently the number of full-time students at our higher education institution is 10,321. The University ranks 13th in terms of the number of applications submitted and ninth in terms of the largest state order.
