Like a beehive of unflagging workers, the staff of the Faculty of Chemistry, Ecology and Pharmacy of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University is constantly replenishing the stocks.
It all started from the volunteers asking the lecturers to assist in raising funds for the purchase of medical antifungal medicine. Our employees came up immediately with a bright idea of making ointments.
Thus, the production stages were launched. Raw materials are brought by all enthusiastic lecturers, students, and other Lutsk residents. Chemical reagents and essential oils are provided by the institution itself. As soon as a wide range of people learned about the initiative, they started to send the components even from Lviv and Khmelnytskyi.
– Процес у нас налагоджено чітко до автоматизму, – розповідає завідувач кафедри органічної хімії та фармації Наталія Сливка. – Виготовляємо препарати тільки зі стандартизованих компонентів. Сировину використовуємо і хімічну, і органічну. Працюємо так, що й часу нема порахувати обсяги виробництва, бо ж щодня відправляємо нашим захисникам.
– Our process is aligned automatically, – the Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry and Pharmacy Natalia Slyvka says. – We make medicine only from standardised components. We use both chemical and organic raw materials. Because of intensive work, we are short of time to count the production volumes, because we send it to our defenders every day.
The range includes as many as 15 types of products from propolis, wax, calendula, kalanchoe, sea buckthorn, which perform anti-inflammatory, disinfectant, analgesic, anti-burn functions and more.
Produced ointments, oils, tinctures, pastes go not only to the military formations of Volyn, but also to save the lives of our battalions defending Kyiv, Mariupol, and Zhytomyr region. To this end, reliable contacts have been established with military officials and chaplains. We can’t but wish inspiration to the girls, because each tiny jar saves a life of many.
