At the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, volunteers pack individual daily dry rations for the defenders of Ukraine.
On the basis of one of the University faculties, volunteers compose army dry rations, which will later be delivered to the defenders of Ukraine at the front. Iryna Levchuk, an associate professor of the History and Culture of the Ukrainian Language Department, forms food kits together with student volunteers.
The teacher says that the University has organized a special collection point for humanitarian aid for Ukrainian soldiers and internally displaced persons. One of the servicemen suggested packing dry rations for the military.
"The work at the humanitarian aid collection point gave us an opportunity to get acquainted with one of the militaries. In fact, it was he who proposed to form ready-made daily rations. This will allow our defenders to eat well and get the right amount of calories when it is not possible to use the field kitchen”, said Iryna Levchuk.
We took packing of dry rations quite seriously and even organized a special master class conducted by a University graduate. As for the "ingredients" for food kits, Iryna Petrivna says, that it is based on the principle "Many a little makes a mickle". A lot of help comes from international organizations. The university community, teachers, students, and employees, also participate in these activities.
University volunteers have repeatedly donated products to the military from various units. Most of the addressees are servicemen of the 14th OMBR named after Prince Roman the Great. The military has already appreciated the presents from the Volyn University and sent grateful feedback to the volunteers. This is very pleasing to all who have joined the formation of daily rations.
A volunteer Solomiia Prokhorenko said that the greatest goal for her and all student-volunteers is to help the military.
“This recharges us with new energy. If this help can bring at least a drop of benefit to a person, we know that we are doing a valuable job" – says the student.
Another volunteer, Roman Zubchyk, states that it is very important for him to help those who defend Ukraine with weapons at the front.
"Given that I am 18 and I am a student, I cannot directly fight at the front. However, we volunteers find relief and comfort in helping the soldiers. This is very important for us morally", Roman said.
Therefore, active work on packing the army dry rations is currently underway and volunteers from the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University hope that the military will enjoy the food kits prepared for them.
