At the invitation of the colleagues from Academia Sinica (Taiwan), professors of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University Olena Pavlova and Kostyantyn Pavlov took part in a series of scientific events held on the basis of the Research Institute of Economics in the structural division of Academia Sinica.
Within the framework of the mentioned academic events, a Seminar on Macro-Financial Economics was held on July 17, 2022, and a webinar “Inclusive origins of rapid industrialization: the lasting effects of colonial banking systems and the economic miracle of Taiwan” was held in a mixed format (online and offline).

Among the speakers were Dr. Katrin Assenmacher, a representative of the European Central Bank, Prof. Tzu-Ting Yang, Mr. Shao-Yu-Jheng, researchers and practitioners working in the banking system of Taiwan, Indonesia, and China.

The main discussion issues were the cross-border availability of transfering payments for non-residents of the country, the global demand for currency in conditions of instability of monetary systems, and global macro-financial consequences of food security.

Scientists and practitioners from different countries of the world managed to exchange experience regarding the processes of the banking sector industrialization in their countries, analyze methodical and practical tools used for the intensification of Taiwan’s banking system, and generalize the possibility of introducing elements of the economic miracle in other countries.
