A long-term cooperation with public organisations is a remaining priority of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health. A few days ago, an agreement on cooperation in the field of sports, scientific and educational activities was signed between Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University represented by Rector Anatolii Tsios and the NGO “Special Olympics of Ukraine” represented by Executive Director Andrii Pidvarko.
“The agreement between the higher education institution and the public organisation is quite effective, because the university itself can provide personnel training in the field of physical culture and sports, in particular for training athletes with intellectual disabilities. As a result of the signed cooperation agreement, the appropriate conditions will be created for our students of higher education for the organisation and implementation of internships at the NGO “Special Olympics of Ukraine” according to the profile of the future profession”, Rector Anatolii Tsios stressed.
The Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health provides high-level retraining and advanced training of coaches working with athletes with intellectual disabilities, and also participates in the organisation and conduct of physical culture and sports events and competitions of the “Special Olympics of Ukraine” NGO, Vasyl Pantik, the Dean, commented. According to the Director of the Regional Division of the Special Olympics, Kateryna Svishcheva, the signed agreement primarily contributes to the development of international cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports of people with disabilities, which is extremely relevant today.
