On December 22, a bilateral cooperation agreement was signed between Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University and the Vienna Conservatory in Budapest. This is the first step towards the admission of the University to the recently created Consortium of Arts of the EU countries, one of whose partners is the Vienna Conservatory, the world-famous music educational institution of Austria.
For the choreographic direction, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University will cooperate with the Academy of Arts (Belgrade), where students study a number of dance disciplines: classical ballet, modern and folk dances, as well as choreography and dance pedagogy at educational and qualification levels and degrees, such as: bachelor, master’s, and doctor of philosophy.

Within the framework of the Consortium, the Faculty of Culture and Arts will cooperate with leading European institutions of higher education in the following specialties: “Musical Art”, “Choreography”, “Design”, “Fine Art, Decorative Art, Restoration”, and “Cultural Studies”.

The first online meeting of the partner universities of the Consortium took place, during which Rector of the Vienna Conservatory in Budapest, Professor Gabor Balog, expressed a strong desire to deepen bilateral relations. Specific areas of joint work were also discussed, in particular, the possibility of implementing grant programmes for international cross-border activities; organisation of joint exhibitions, plein-airs of fine and decorative arts and design; development of joint master classes to optimise scientific and practical research activities of lecturers and students; involvement in participation in art forums, festivals, competitions, concerts; joint holding of international scientific and practical conferences, and more.

At the end of the joint meeting, Gabor Balog noted: “Joint work makes us stronger!”
