The University Signs a Memorandum with the MOMENTUM WHEELS FOR HUMANITY Organisation

At Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, two cooperation agreements were signed by the Momentum Wheels for Humanity organisation: with the institution of higher education and Volyn Regional Clinical Hospital.

Regional director of Momentum Wheels for Humanity in Ukraine Nataliia Melnychenko, Head of Volyn Regional Clinical Hospital Oleksandr Dudar, Dean of the Medical Faculty Andrii Poruchynskyi, Head of the Department of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Olga Andriychuk were present at the meeting at the Rector Anatolii Tsos’s office.

The purpose of the memorandum is to establish the terms of cooperation between Momentum Wheels for Humanity and Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University regarding the improvement and support of the system of education and clinical training in the specialty 227 Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy for the second (Master’s) level of higher education.

The parties agreed that within the framework of the memorandum, the Momentum Wheels for Humanity organisation will improve the system of education and clinical training of students, providing methodological recommendations regarding the educational programme and curriculum in physical therapy based on Ukrainian legislation and international recommendations. The organisation will also conduct online trainings for clinical training coordinators, lecturers, clinical supervisors; will present online presentations on the structure and function of a physical therapy preclinical practice office; will provide equipment for the office of preclinical practice in physical therapy.

During the meeting, the Director of the organisation, Nataliia Melnychenko, noted that the clinical base should move inseparably with the educational institution for high-quality training of specialists: “We can bring any equipment, but we must have trained specialists.”

Anatolii Tsos and Oleksandr Dudar expressed hope that the cooperation of the Momentum Wheels for Humanity organisation with the University and the clinical base, Volyn Regional Clinical Hospital will contribute to the development of students and become a guarantee of the training of highly qualified specialists.

“Our lecturers will be happy to participate in various events, seminars, trainings, etc. In my opinion, this memorandum will benefit university education,” Rector summed up. At the end of the meeting, Anatolii Tsos, Nataliya Melnychenko and Oleksandr Dudar signed memorandums of cooperation and posed for a group photo.
