On October 19-20, the final stage of the project from the Visegrad Foundation “Town and Gown 2.0: strategic cooperation between city and university in Visegrad Group and Ukraine” took place. As part of the project, the “Hackathon of Creative Industries: Cooperation between the University and the City” was held in the city of Ostroh. The participants of the event were students from Lesya Ukrainka University, the National University of Ostroh Academy, and the National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use.
The event consisted of two parts. The first was devoted to presentations of strategies for the development of city-university cooperation in Ostroh, Lutsk, and Rivne, to be created based on the exchange of experience of the countries of the Visegrad Group.
The second part consisted of expert reports. The issue of city-university cooperation, innovative development of academic cities, and the impact of education on regional development were discussed. An air alarm stood in the way of the participants but in modern conditions everyone needs to be able to adapt. That is why the hackathon started in the legendary dungeons of the Ostroh Academy National University.
All student projects were completely different but united by a creative approach and desire to improve their city. Young people were able to share their own experience, get feedback from experts on their own ideas, communicate with like-minded people, and spend an unforgettable time at the National University of Ostroh Academy.
