On the occasion of International Volunteer Day students and lecturers working for the Victory were honoured-at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
The representatives of faculties, deans, teaching staff, students and employees of the higher education institution gathered in the conference hall of the main building.
The event began with a tribute to the soldiers who gave their lives in the fight for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
After that, Rector Anatolii Tsos congratulated the public on the holiday and wished the volunteers good health, success in their difficult task and inspiration for further work to help society.
Anatolii Vasyliovych also mentioned returning from a front trip, where he had communicated with Volyn defenders from the 14th OMBR named after Prince Roman the Great and the 100th OMBR of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. «I met with the commanders and servicepersons of these brigades. The University handed over powerful aid of 16 quadcopters, Starlink stations, goodies and other gifts. The soldiers were very pleased and grateful. I personally want to thank you, because students, lecturers and employees collected money at fairs, transferred a day’s salaries, and owing to your assistance and work, we managed to help our soldiers,» said Anatolii Vasyliovych.
In addition, Rector conveyed thanks from the Command of the 100th Division of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to each faculty for their active citizenship, patriotism, sincere heart and concern, fruitful cooperation with the military.
Also, the most active volunteers of the University received thanks from Rector.
