On January 16, 2024, the graduates of Master's degree programme of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University received their diplomas. The event took place at Volyn Academic Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after Taras Shevchenko. Traditionally for university events, at the beginning, the fallen Heroes were commemorated and the National Anthem of Ukraine was performed.
After that, everyone was blessed by the Chancellor of Volyn Diocese of the OCU, Archpriest Mykola Tsap.
«Nothing can stop us from handing you diplomas, dear graduates. We are Ukrainians and we always finish what we started. 1,662 masters of our University are qualified, intelligent, ready to work qualitatively for the development and defense of the state. I sincerely thank everyone for their commitment, civic attitude, and the approach of Victory,» said Rector Anatolii Tsos.
He noted that everyone should be grateful to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to study and work, live in relative peace. Rector emphasized that University graduates have significant achievements and implementations.
Later, Olena Hamaza, a master of sports of Ukraine of international class, a graduate of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health, took the stage. She thanked the University and Rector Anatolii Tsos for their support, understanding, help and advanced education.
People's Deputy of Ukraine Iryna Konstankevych was one of the speakers. «This course is unique. Graduating masters in wartime is heroism. You came to study to belong to the land of winners. It is also the heroism of educators who has been working during the war. This is the heroism of the parents deliberately setting out to ensure that their children study and work in a country having to defeat the aggressor. Someday, you will tell how you finished your studies at the powerful University,» said Iryna Myroslavivna. She noted that starting from the following day, the graduates will act in a different status and must work on the reconstruction of Ukraine doing the best they can for its Victory.
Chairman of Volyn Regional Council, a University graduate, Hryhorii Nedopad, also spoke. He stressed that the holiday initiators should appreciate the fact that they are the best graduates of the best Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. Hryhorii Nedopad wished them a peaceful sky and serenity without worries. Head of Department of Education and Science of Volyn Oblast, Nataliia Matviiuk, noted that today is another important step in the graduates' career.
She wished them confidence in themselves and the future, and Deputy Mayor of Lutsk, Iryna Chebeliuk, wished the fulfillment of dreams, peace and Victory: «May the fire of faith in the fact that we will rebuild our free Ukraine together with you never cease in everyone's heart.»
The hosts of the event were Bohdan Lukashuk and Anna Klymovets. The graduates received diplomas at the theater stage. Andrii Sydor, a master graduate of Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security, joined the celebrations remotely, from the war zone. The event was held in a good atmosphere, the participants took memorable photos in the photo zone and near the University's symbols.
