The students of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University spoke with an “Azov” veteran collecting donations to the defenders while walking a marathon across Ukraine, Head of the “Marathon of Goodness of Petro Skrypka” NGO.

Petro Skrypka is a former Azov citizen who, since the beginning of the full-scale enemy invasion of our native lands, has spent a year serving in the army, but was commissioned from the army due to his health, as he has a chronic disease: multiple sclerosis. Despite his illness, after rehabilitation in the hospital, instead of standing aside from the needs of the country, he decided to join the volunteer movement of Ukraine and help the Armed Forces.

“When I was commissioned, I didn’t want to remain indifferent, I wanted to help. And already during my treatment in the hospital, I planned such a large-scale idea of launching the «Marathon of Goodness»”, – the former serviceman said.

Inspired by the walking marathon of Mark Kutsevalov, Petro decided to try himself in this way of collecting donations to help the military. This is how Petro Skrypka’s walking marathon began. The first stage of the marathon was last summer from Kyiv to Nuremberg. The second one was already this winter from Kyiv to Ivano-Frankivsk. And right now Petro is walking his third, big marathon across Ukraine: Ivano-Frankivsk – Kharkiv – Ivano-Frankivsk (via Lviv, Lutsk, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnipro and other cities).

After the previous marathons, it was possible to help in the rehabilitation of servicepersons who lost their limbs and purchase bionic prostheses, as well as a large tractor with a trailer for 3 Joint Assault Brigade. The sum for an electronic warfare station (trench dome) for the 106th Brigade has already been collected. Currently, the collection for more than 100 FPV drones for dozens of divisions is open.

During the meeting with students and teachers of the University, Petro Skrypka answered the questions that interested the audience and took a joint photo with volunteers.
