On September 14, 2023, a delegation from Šibenik University of Applied Sciences and Nikola Tesla Polytechnic University from Croatia visited our university. This important event was aimed at establishing partnership and cooperation between Ukrainian and Croatian institutions of higher education.
The delegation from Croatia represented by Ljubo Runjić and Alen Lalic from the Šibenik University of Applied Sciences and Maya Tsvitan Hrubishyn from Nikola Tesla Polytechnic University had a meeting with Rector of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University Anatolii Tsos, Vice-Rector for scientific and pedagogical work and international cooperation Lyudmyla Yelisieieva, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Communication Nataliia Blahovirna, Dean of Faculty of Law Anton Demchuk, Dean of Faculty of International Relations Antonina Shulyak, as well as specialists of International Relations Office. The main goal was to discuss cooperation opportunities cooperation between the universities and sign a Memorandum of Understanding.
First, the delegation representatives from Croatia shared their impressions of the visit to Ukraine. During the conversation, they noted that they had conducted a preliminary study of the international work of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, and expressed great interest in the cooperation. Special emphasis was placed on the cooperation in such areas as: administration, law, information technology, and physical therapy. The possibility of academic mobility of students and teaching staff under the Erasmus+ and "Double Diploma" programmes was discussed. The idea of introducing hybrid programmes, in particular in the field of law, was considered.
The representatives of Croatian universities also shared information about financial support from the European Union for the implementation of projects to improve dormitories as an important aspect for foreign students.
The parties exchanged information on the achievements and capabilities of their universities. Rector Anatolii Tsos shared the stories of successful cooperation with Polish Higher Secondary School, his visit to Britain and the implementation of the "Double Diploma" programme. The final step was signing the Memorandum of Understanding between Lesya Ukrainka Volyn national University and Šibenik University of Applied Sciences, which opens up new opportunities for knowledge exchange, scientific research and student mobility.
In general, the visit of the delegation from Croatia was an important event for Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University opening new perspectives for international cooperation. This proves the institution's positive influence on the international educational community and emphasizes its role in the development of science and education. We wish success to all the parties in the implementation of joint projects and initiatives in the future.
