Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University was visited by volunteers from Canada. The foreign guests talked with Rector Anatolii Tsos and representatives of lecturing staff. The meeting was also attended by Nataliia Blahovirna, Vice-Rector for educational work and communication, Liudmyla Yelisieieva, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Cooperation, Larysa Makaruk, Dean of Faculty of Foreign Philology, Vladyslav Kolomechiuk, Head of Faculty of International Relations, and specialist in working with foreign students Nataliia Kasyanchuk.
Volunteers Vicky and Steven Ace, Sharon Michalski and Jeff Price spoke about their impressions of Ukraine and Lutsk.
«This is my first time in Ukraine and, in general, my first time in the country where active hostilities are taking place. Never heard the sound of a siren and never been in a bomb shelter. The first thing that stands out to me here is how resilient your youth are in enduring these anxieties and continuing to learn. Instead of losing heart, they move on. I was impressed that the students continue their learning process there as well,» noted Jeff Price.
The foreigners also talked about communication with the University students. «They have a very good level of English,» emphasized Jeff Price. Sharon Michalski, as a psychologist specialist, noted that she had a lecture to the students of Faculty of Psychology. Guests from Canada also met with students from other faculties.
Nataliia Blahovirna, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Communication, spoke about the multi-level system of psychological support for the University students. In addition, she reported on working with veterans and their families in the veteran communication space «Plus Plus ++».
Rector Anatolii Tsos told the visitors about the University, volunteer activities, the achievements of lecturers and students, perspectives and ideas.
During the meeting, the representatives of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University and volunteers from Canada discussed possible options for cooperation, in particular, they drew attention to help in establishing communication and expanding cooperation with Canadian higher education institutions.
