On April 29, 2025, the final of the competition of creative ideas of students “Let’s make Volyn better! Don’t be indifferent!” was held at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
The competition uniting talented participants from different parts of Volyn is aimed at motivating young people for project activities in the direction of economic, social, environmental progress and development of secure and comfortable communities for the population in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals and post-war reconstruction.
Before the event, acting rector Anatolii Tsos welcomed the audience. “I am sincerely glad to welcome you to our best Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. It is the best, first of all, for its students, teachers, employees, and programs that provide quality education. And all this creates a good environment for training future specialists. A university is promising only when there is clear cooperation with business, authorities, communities and organizations. It is extremely pleasant that for six years now, together with our partners, we have been holding such a wonderful competition aimed at improving the quality of life for us and our residents,” said Anatolii Tsos, wishing the participants success and inspiration and thanking the competition partner, Kromberg & Schubert.
The participants presented their projects, each containing a description of three community problems, and the solution's contribution to its development. The students proposed their own vision for solving these problems and presented it to the competition jury.
The jury included the lecturers from Department of Management, Department of Marketing, Department of Finance, Department of Economics and Trade, Department of Accounting and Taxation, students, and employees of the Kromberg & Schubert UKRAINE LU LLC. After the defense of the projects and the competition summary, the participants had a tour of the Kromberg & Schubert UKRAINE LU LLC and also visited “City Cafe” – a social project of conscious citizens.
The ceremony of the competition and awarding of the winners was attended by the acting rector of the University Anatolii Tsos and Director of the Kromberg & Schubert UKRAINE LU LLC Viktoriia Pazychuk.
“I am pleased that the younger generation is taking the initiative, wants to do something better for the country, community, and the future. That is why we decided to take part in this event to support such enterprising young people, for whom the future belongs”, – Viktoriia Pazychuk remarked.

Acting rector Anatolii Tsos praised the Kromberg & Schubert UKRAINE LU LLC for effective cooperation, presenting her with an official letter of gratitude from the University. Assistant Professor of Department of Accounting and Taxation Alla Tkachuk-Fatenok, as the host of the solemn event, addressed future students with an invitation to join Faculty of Economics and Management, encouraging them to choose Lesya Ukrainka University as a reliable step towards a successful professional future.
The winners of the competition were:
1. Third degree diploma: – Iryna Kovalchuk, Torchyn Lyceum. Project “Eco-school: sort garbage, live ecologically”; – Viktoriia Maydaniuk, Manevytskyi Lyceum No. 1 named after the Hero of Ukraine Andrii Snitko. Project “Sports and tourism without barriers”.
2. Second degree diploma: – Anna Skulinets, Torchyn Lyceum. Project “Inclusive and comfortable community”; – Uliana Doretska, Lutsk Lyceum No. 10. Project “The path to eternity”.
3. First degree diploma: – Maksym Ivankevych, Rostyslav Ivankevych, Berestechko Lyceum. Project “Sunset on Oars”; – Vadym Mykhaliuk, Berestechko Lyceum. Project “Blackberry Nectar”.
The Rector’s Prize was awarded to Mariia Kovalchuk, a student of the Zaliuttia village gymnasium. We sincerely congratulate the winners!
