General information about the Department

Body

History of the department started in 1998 when the Department of finance was created in the way of reorganization of the Department of economics and management. The head of the department was Doctor of economics, professor Lagutin Vasyl.

In 1999 the Department of finance was reorganized into two departments: the Department of finance of enterprises and credit and the Department of state finance. The Department of state finance was headed by Doctor of economics, professor Karlin Mykola, and the head of the Department of finance of enterprises was Doctor in economics, professor Slaviuk Rostyslav.

In 2009 the Department of finance of enterprises was renamed as the Department of finance and credit (the head of the department – Candidate of economics science, docent Grudzevych Igor) and in 2016 the Department of state finance got  the name the Department of finance, bank business and insurance (the head of the department – Docent of economics, professor Karlin Mykola).

In 2020 in the way of reorganization the departments were united into one – the Department of finance.

Передумови: диплом молодшого спеціаліста за спеціальностями 072 «Фінанси, банківська справа та страхування», 051 «Економіка», 073 «Менеджмент», 075 «Маркетинг», 076 «Підприємництво, торгівля та біржова діяльність».

Вимоги до вступу визначаються Правилами прийому до ВНУ імені Лесі Українки

Зарахування на підставі таких вступних іспитів (для державного замовлення):

  1. Сертифікат зовнішнього незалежного оцінювання з української мови та літератури;
  2. Сертифікат зовнішнього незалежного оцінювання з математики;
  3. Фахове випробування (Економіка).

        Ліцензійний обсяг: 30 місць.

Educational qualification: Doctor of philosophy in management and administrating in specialty 072 “Finances, bank business and insurance”.

Requirements: Master`s (specialist`s) degree in specialty 072 “Finances, bank business and insurance” or related specialties and areas of knowledge 07 “Management and administrating”.

 The requirements for admission are made by the Principle about preparation of doctors of philosophy at Lesia Ukrainka`s Volyn National University.

 Admission is provided on the base of following entrance exams:

  1. Professional exam on specialty;
  2. Foreign language exam;
  3. Report on specialty (or a list of scientific works on specialty if it is available).
Body

The Department of finances provides preparation of highly qualified specialists in specialty 072 “Finances, bank business and insurance”, who have all necessary competences for carrying out professional activity and also gain “soft skills” during studying. Such skills guarantee financiers the ability for strategic thinking and planning financial-business activity of entities, the ability to take a risk and estimate the level of a financial risk, quick adaptation to the change of external and domestic factors of economic environment. 

 

Specialists in the field of finances, bank business and insurance get knowledge in:

  • Features of financial providing of a budget sector and taxation;
  • The procedure of bank system functioning and carrying out bank operations by financial-credit establishments;
  • Mechanism of financial management of entities of different forms of ownership and organizational legal form of business;
  • Particularities of formation and realization of financial, currency, tax, investment, monetary-credit policy;
  • The procedure of carrying out currency operations;
  • Features of carrying out operations on a stock market and in stock exchange activity;
  • Rules and methods of estimating the value of business;
  • Insurance in section of its main kinds;
  • Particularities of design and financing of innovative projects and start-ups etc.

 

Specialists in the field of finances, bank business and insurance are integral workers of any financial, budget institution, production enterprise, state office of regional and municipal level on all positions, without exceptions, which require a degree in economics. Graduates of the Department of finances can work for enterprises of all kinds of ownership.

 

The Department of finances prepares specialists for three Degrees – Bachelor, Master and Doctor of philosophy in specialty 072 “Finances, bank business and insurance”.

At the Department of finances in the process of preparing specialists in specialty 072 “Finances, bank business and insurance” the program of double degree functions on the base of the signed agreement with Higher School of Economics and Innovations of Lublin (Poland). It allows our students to get a degree of Lesia Ukrainka`s Volyn National University and an European degree of Higher School of Economics and Innovations of Lublin studying simultaneously at both establishments of higher education.
