On May 15, 2025, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University celebrated Vyshyvanka Day. A competition for the best vyshyvanka was held among the faculties. The students competed for the first place in several nominations: the best modern vyshyvanka, the best traditional vyshyvanka, and the audience award. The judges of the competition were: Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Communication Nataliia Blahovirna, Vice-Rector for Digitalisation Vadym Muliar, Head of Information Policy Office Olena Rozhiy, Rector's Assistant Tetyina Rospopa, Practical Psychologist Tetiana Kulyk, and Student Dean of Faculty of History, Political Science, and National Security Daryna Lysyk.
The event was accompanied by song compositions from the students of Faculty of Culture and Arts. During the festivities, the participants were addressed by the acting rector of the University Anatolii Tsos expressing his gratitude to the students and lecturers for their activity and resilience in difficult conditions: “This morning was a difficult one for us. We woke up to the sounds of the shaheds. However, despite everything, we maintain our mental health, come to events with a smile, healthy and ready to work. I am sincerely grateful to everyone for their dedication, for the fact that the students continue to study, and lecturers to teach. Thanks to you, the University lives, develops and holds events not only decorating the educational process, but also inspiring.”
The participants of the event were able to take part in a master class and learn Ukrainian everyday dance which was performed by Head of Choreography Department, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Oleh Kozachuk.
Faculty of Pedagogical Education and Social Work succeeded in the nomination for the best modern embroidery, and Faculty of Philology and Journalism in the nomination for the traditional embroidery. The audience award was shared between Faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Health, and Faculty of International Relations.
