Head of the Medical Psychology and Life Safety Department, Ph.D. in Psychology, Associate Professor
Mushkevych Myroslava was born on 16 January 1965 in the city of Rozhyshche, Ukraine. She left school in 1982. She graduated from the Lutsk State Pedagogical Institute with a degree in English and German in 1988. Then, in 1995, she graduated from the Faculty of Postgraduate Education of Lesia Ukrainka Volyn National University with a specialization in Experimental Psychology in Education Setting. She was working as an English teacher in Rozhyshche school number 4 of I-III levels in the period from 1988 to 1995. From 1995 to 1999 she was working as the teaching assistant of the Experimental (Practical) Psychology Department of Lesia Ukrainka Volyn National University. Since 1999 he has hold the position of the assistant of the Medical Psychology and Psycho-Diagnostics Department. In 2000 she worked as a senior lecturer of the Medical Psychology and Psycho-Diagnostics Department of Lesia Ukrainka Volyn National University. Then she was transferred to the position of the expert in external links and became the Head of International Relations Department in 2001. Myroslava defended her thesis "Impact of the Parent Family on Relationships in Case of a Young Marriage", Specialty 19.00.07 – Educational and Developmental Psychology (2002). From 2003 she has been dual-hated as a senior lecturer of the Medical Psychology and Psycho-Diagnostics Department and as a Head of International Relations Department. In 2004 she was also transferred to the position of the assistant professor of Medical Psychology and Psycho-Diagnostics Department and from 2004 to 2005 she has had a second job as the Head of International Relations Department. Being appointed to the position of the Head of the Medical Psychology and Psycho-Diagnostics Department in 2006 she is heading the department now.
She teaches subjects such as: "Supervision", "Principles of Psychotherapy and Training of Therapeutic and Advisory Activities", "Health Psychology", "Abnormal Psychology", "Behavioural Genetics."
She successfully leads and manages the task group activities dealing with a systematic approach to family therapy and psychological support for families with troubled children suggested by M. Bowen as well as a workshop familiarizing students with classical and modern approaches to Psychology and Family Therapy. It is here students have the opportunity to work with families requiring the psychological assistance.
Since 2000 she has been a member of the International Association of Family Therapists. She has been also on probation in the USA under the Fulbright program (the George Washington University, Department of Professional Psychology) and in the Centre for Systemic Family Therapy of M. Bowen at Georgetown University, Washington, DC, USA (2004 - 2005) as well as she has organized and undergone training in the master school dealing with Rogerian psychotherapy (client-centered psychotherapy). Since 2008 she has been the organizer, leader, consultant and therapist of the Psychological Counselling Centre at the Department where she has been working with children having special needs, their parents, troubled teens and dysfunctional families. She is the consultant - a practical psychologist, expert on deviant behaviour of the Volyn Regional Psychology and Medico-Pedagogical Commission, a member of the Commission on the Crime Prevention, a supervisor of projects dealing with the preventive education created by Lesia Ukrainka Eastern European National University, a Chairman of the local branch of the All-Ukrainian non-governmental organization (NGO) "Institute of Client-Centered Psychotherapy and Experimental Psychology" ("ICPEP") in Volyn region, a training specialist to develop models of the health care management at the local level: the national and international experience; a coach of the Program ‘Equal Opportunities and Women's Rights in Ukraine’ funded by the European Union, the Swedish Agency for International Development Cooperation Sida and UNDP as well as implemented by UNDP. She is also a Member of the Specialized Academic Council K 32.051.05 of Lesia Ukrainka Volyn National University and the Head of the State Examination Board monitoring knowledge of experts of the Social and Psychological Faculty, Rivne Institute of the Opened International University of Human Development "Ukraine".
The theme of her scientific inquiry is "Any Psychological Support for the Family Having a Problem Child." In 2012, thesis "Psychological Pecularities of the Junior Students with Hearing Disorders Learning Motivational Sphere Development" was passed Ph.D. defense by Chaharna S. Y. under the auspices of Mushkevych M. as well as going on research work carried out by Ph.D. students and applicants on the following urgent issues: "Psychological Characteristics Concerning Life Qualities of Patients with First Diagnosed Myocardial Infarction" (Korpach K. I.), "Psychological Characteristics of Self-Assessment of Children with any Mental Retardation Depending upon the Model of the Family Education" (Kovalyshyn I.V.), "Social and Psychological Characteristics of Relationships in Single-Parent Families" (Rizvanyuk T. M.), "Psychological Peculiarities of Love and Hate in Conjugal Partners" (Yasenchuk I. V.).
Myroslava is the author of 2 books, 5 study guides and guidelines and more than 60 scientific articles related to the psychological support for children with special needs in the family, a theoretical and practical training of professional psychologists and parents of children with special needs, dysfunctional families, health psychology, and gender issues.
