In the north of Volyn, in a picturesque corner of Ukrainian Polissia, there are Shatsky lakes. Lakes are concentrated here. Svityaz, Pisochne, Pulemetske, Lyutsimir, Pishchanski, etc. The combination of watery blue lakes with cheerful greenery of coniferous and mixed forests creates unique Polish landscapes. The lakes and surrounding landscapes became the center of the Shatsky Natural National Park. Near the village Lake Skulyn is located in the middle of the forest. Nechinme, whose gentle and thoughtful beauty inspired Lesya Ukrainka. Something poeticized by her in "Forest Song".
It is on the picturesque shores of the largest lake in Ukraine. Svityaz is the base of practices of the "Hart" camp of Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka. For more than 40 years, students of the educational institution have had the opportunity to undergo internships, participate in international, all-Ukrainian, regional and university scientific-practical conferences, seminars, get healthy and relax.
On the initiative of the University management, the reconstruction of the camp was started, because the eight old wooden houses and six huts could not accommodate even a third of the student trainees. The conditions of the camp did not allow accepting students and teachers in the cold season, it operated only in the summer months.
Today, the base of practices will hospitably welcome 200 people who want to relax. First of all, large sleeping buildings were built - "Hive", "Murashnyk" - these are two-story premises with rooms for 2-3 people and holiday houses with all amenities (furniture, refrigerator, TV, etc.). New ventilation, heating and sewage systems have been added to the wooden structures, which makes it possible to receive people throughout the year. Each building has an original name: "Silver Wolf", "Bear Paw", "Belly Frog", "Golden Eagle", "Badger Hole", "Three Storks", "Big Spider", "May Khrushch", administrative building "Peregrine Falcon" ", conference hall - "Owl", sauna - "Beaver Hut", dining room - "Three Bears". A special pride is the conference hall, designed for 300 seats. There is a summer bar and a dance floor near the beach.
A unique natural landscape, an ecologically clean area, the beauty of nature, a fertile climate, a gentle sun, healing lake water gave the impetus to hold a student festival of the Ukrainian pop song "On the Waves of Svityaz" on the basis of practices of the "Hart" camp, which is organized by Lesya Volyn National University Ukrainian women Every year, the participants of the "Miss University" contest have the opportunity to relax in the summer on the territory of the base.
The camp has a sports and health direction, so teachers, employees, students and guests of the recreation center can spend their free time on volleyball, basketball, handball courts, tennis courts, gymnastics grounds, and a football stadium. Everyone can have a rest at the sports and health camp "Hart" in the autumn and winter period.
A lot has already been done, but the construction continues and is carried out on the basis of natural, environmentally friendly materials, according to the latest technologies and in compliance with modern construction requirements.
